AIR JORDAN 1 RETRO HIGH WMNS "Court Purple"

The Women’s Air Jordan 1 High “Court Purple” is a women’s edition of Michael Jordan’s first signature shoe that salutes one of the model’s original colorways. A June 2021 release by Jordan Brand, the “Court Purple” makeup of the beloved Air Jordan 1 is a nod to the original “Metallic Purple” design from 1985. Amazingly, the “Metallic Purple” has never been retro’d by Nike or Jordan Brand. This modern interpretation of the look is very close to the design’s color block, but there are a few differences. The upper displays a crisp white tumbled leather base with a contrasting Court Purple leather Swoosh on both sides. A purple “Wings” logo resides on the white leather overlay beneath the glossy Court Purple leather collar. Additional purple detailing comes into play on the “Nike Air” text on the tongue tag on the tongue. The major call out between the “Court Purple” and “Purple Metallic” is the difference in material used on the inner lining and tongue. Here, a satin material is used for the lining in lieu of the standard cloth found on most Jordan 1s, and the tongue is constructed in leather instead of the nylon style of the original. Also, the purple accents on the “Court Purple” do not emit the sparkle finish seen on the original “Metallic Purple.” Release date: June 3, 2021.
